My dear friend and "second mum" M

Muriel was my Avon Lady long before we ever met.  We were like ships that passed in the night. She would leave a brochure or my order behind the bin by my front door and I would leave money or orders in the same way.  This continued for a number of years until one morning in January 1998.  This particular morning she knocked on my door, fully expecting me not to be in.  When I opened the door she stepped back and her mouth fell open in shock.  The first words out of her were "OH - you are pregnant!!" I was the size of a small house with my son at the time.  Thus began an amazing friendship with that particular story being retold on many occasions and causing us to fall about in fits of laughter every time we told it.

Muriel and I bonded over many different things including our love of gardening and cross stitch.

I would jokingly refer to her as my second mum.  She was a close confidant and wouldn't hesitate in telling me off when it was warranted.  She was also a huge fan of literally anything I took a hand to.

She has been an integral part of my life for so long and not a day would go by where we didn't message one another.  Muriel has left a massive hole in so many lives - mine included.

I miss you my dear friend - I will keep an eye out for the Robins.

Sleep tight
